Dean Ball, Associate Dean Lucas, and the BSOS senior staff are pleased to announce the BSOS Dean’s Research Initiative (DRI) for 2017-2018. We are excited about continuing this highly successful program that provides internal support for our most promising proposals to stimulate research at the Faculty, Graduate, and Undergraduate levels. Awards span a one-year period. Award Categories and Submission Guidelines are outlined below. For all categories, evidence of prior or planned future efforts to secure external funding for the activities will be viewed favorably. Additionally, award budgets must cover the cost of fringe benefits for all employees, with the exception of tuition remission. Award maximums may be exceeded to account for fringe benefits.
Proposals for all mechanisms are due by 11:59pm April 14th, 2017. All applications must be submitted for approval to your Department Chair by April 10th 2017. Award decisions will be announced on or before May 15, 2017.
