From Fields to Prisons: Town Hall on MCE
Join Prison Resistance Project and the UMD chapter of National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) at a town hall to discuss in detail the role of Maryland Correctional Enterprises on our campus and within the state of Maryland, as well as how to become involed in organizing against them. The town hall will consist of a total of 40-45 minutes given for our featured panelists to speak followed by 10-15 minutes to distribute and sign petitions, distribute free anti MCE stickers to the audience, and discuss/distribute comprehensive information about both national and local businesses that are appropriate targets for various forms of activism such as consumer boycotting and divestment. The remaining hour will be open for discussion in the form of questions and statements from the audience to panelists as well as other audience members.
