As part of programming for the 2019 Mental Health Awareness Week at the University of Maryland, please join the College of Behavioral and Social Sciences for a screening of "The S Word," a documentary film, which tackles one of the most unfathomable issues of our time; suicide. This documentary seeks to amplify the voices of those living after suicide attempts and loss and raise awareness about suicide prevention and resources. The filmmakers hope to encourage people to think about suicide in a completely different way—highlighting the complexity, pain, and even humor of our survivors.
Following the screening, a short panel discussion of the film will be discussed, as well as resources from both campus and non-profit organizations will be shared. This event is free and open to the community.
