Addiction Conference 2020

'Treating the Addiction Epidemic: Prevention, Treatment & Alternatives to Opioid Use'

The students of the University of Maryland, Baltimore and Johns Hopkins University present a one-day symposium for students, physicians, and allied health professionals on the prevention and treatment of addiction. The goal of the conference is to provide attendees a focus on solving gaps in addiction training across health professions and specialties.

Experts will lead a variety of workshops on topics such as opioid prescribing practices, substance use among adolescents and marginalized populations, addiction and the criminal justice system, tele-medicine & mobile treatments, training healthcare professionals to provide care for patients living with substance use disorders and many more!

This year's conference keynote will feature Yasmin Hurd, Ph.D., director of the Addiction Institute at Mount Sinai and the Ward-Coleman Chair of Translational Neuroscience. Dr. Hurd has been featured in TIME magazine, New York Daily News, and CNN.
