Film Screening: Life After the Gunshot, Ep. 1

Life After the Gunshot, Ep. 1 sheds light on the harsh realities of living in Washington, D.C., through the lens of young Black male survivors of community firearm violence. With raw and deeply personal narratives, the documentary follows these young men as they navigate recovery from the physical and psychological trauma of their violent injuries as well as structural violence that preceded their injuries. Emphasizing the critical need for policies and programs addressing both gun violence and mass incarceration, this project amplifies the voices of those too often silenced, advocating for meaningful change through research, intervention and storytelling.

This film is produced by AAAS/ANTH Professor Joseph B. Richardson, Jr., PhD (who is also the director of PROGRESS at the University of Maryland) and Ché Bullock, CEO of C. Bullock & Associates LLC.
