ANTH's Thurka Sangaramoorthy Contributes to Groundbreaking Maryland Fracking Report
Assistant Professor Thurka Sangaramoorthy of the Department of Anthropology served as a principal on a health assessment review of fracking in western Maryland with Principal Investigator and School of Public Health Professor Don Milton. This report on the impact of proposed natural gas exploration in the western part of the state said drilling could pose a threat to air quality and to workers in a region that is ecologically pristine, but likely would not cause earthquakes.
