BSOS Faculty Recognized at 2026 Maryland Research Excellence Celebration
Multiple researchers in the College of Behavioral and Social Sciences were recently recognized at the 2026 Maryland Research Excellence Celebration, an annual, signature event co-hosted by the Office of the Vice President for Research and the Office of the Senior Vice President and Provost.
Each were selected for their role in helping to positively shape the reputation of research conducted at the University of Maryland.
The 2026 Maryland Research Excellence Celebration Honorees from BSOS are:
- Professor Robert Brame, CCJS
- Professor Jude Cassidy, PSYC
- Associate Professor Long Doan, SOCY
- Professor John Drabinski, AAAS
- Associate Professor Christina Getrich, ANTH
- Assistant Professor Brooklynn Hitchens, CCJS
- Professor Yusufcan Masatlioglu, ECON
- Professor Sergio Urzua, ECON
- Assistant Professor Giancarlo Visconti, GVPT
At the celebration, one faculty member from each school or college was selected for special recognition. From BSOS, Jude Cassidy, who is leading a large-scale school-based intervention to improve early childhood well-being and readiness to learn in local public schools, was selected.
