Dean Rivera Unveils New BSOS Strategic Plan
Following months of brainstorming, discussion, and collaboration with faculty, staff, students, and alumni, Dean Susan Rivera presented the college’s new Strategic Plan to the BSOS community on Tuesday, Sept. 17, 2024.
The BSOS Strategic Plan was unveiled at a special State of the College event held in the Colony Ballroom of the Adele H. Stamp Student Union. There, the BSOS community had the chance to learn about the new plan and to engage in interactive activities related to its central themes. Participants were invited to symbolically sign a graphic depiction of the plan’s framework.
Four members of the plan’s Steering Committee took part in a panel discussion, and gave further insight into the plan’s central themes and goals.
“When we set out to craft a new strategic plan, I wanted it to be grounded in our college’s collective past, informed by the present moment, and responsive to the future,” Dean Rivera said. “This strategic plan articulates how BSOS is positioned to contribute to solving new and existing grand challenges. By leveraging our academic, research, and partnership strengths and implementing the objectives articulated in this plan, the College of Behavioral and Social Sciences will work toward a better future.”
