Dr. Anna Li to join the Psychology faculty in January 2018.

Dr. Anna Li will join the faculty in the Department of Psychology in January 2018.  Dr Li received her Ph.D. in neuroscience from the Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science (2012) and is currently completing a postdoctoral fellowship at the National Institute of Drug Addiction (NIDA), Behavioral Neuroscience Branch. Dr. Li's research focuses on animal models of addiction and craving to understand neural circuits that give rise to addiction.  This work has examined the role of the amygdala and explored structural, neuronal, and molecular processes and includes a consideration of genetic factors.  Notably Dr. Li recently received a NIDA early career award, the Pathway to Independence Award (K99/R00) that will support her research exploring circuit and epigenetic mechanisms underlying incubation of methamphetamine craving.  This is a highly competitive award that acknowledges the promise of exceptional young investigators and will fund Dr. Li through 2021.
