Four From BSOS Receive Do Good Innovator Awards
The Do Good Institute, in partnership with the Office of the Provost, recently recognized 57 campus staff and faculty members with a Provost Do Good Innovator Award—and four are a part of the College of Behavioral and Social Sciences.
These Terps exemplify the Do Good Campus through their commitment to create, nurture, expand and amplify social impact throughout education, programs and research, both inside and outside the classroom.

Erin Jones
Assistant Clinical Professor, Department of Psychology
As co-director of the SUCCEEDS Clinic, Dr. Erin Jones has had a huge impact for UMD students with ADHD. Jones has served the campus community through expanded recruitment, community outreach and by developing two TLTC workshops: Neurodiversity in the Classroom and Strategies for Neurodivergent UMD Students.
Jessica Goldberg
Professor, Department of Economics
With PADE (Promoting Achievement & Diversity in Economics) Jessica has created an annual mentored cohort of young scholars who receive support to apply to selective ECON PhD programs. Her efforts have also made visible to all of her colleagues the many challenges and obstacles that students encounter along their academic journeys that are not related to aptitude or hard work, but rather structural or economic obstacles.
Justine DeCamillis & Sarah Kilmer
Associate Director, College Park Scholars Justice & Legal Thought Program
Associate Director, College Park Scholars International Studies Program
Dr. DeCamillis and Dr. Kilmer are key members of a larger team of professionals and students in the College Park Scholars community who collectively created a supportive community for Afghan refugee families who live on our near campus. Although this has been only one part of their complex, student-facing jobs in sister Living and Learning Programs, their commitment to social justice, and their innovative and impactful approach to student engagement and community activism have been outstanding.
