Get to Know the 2025-2026 Dean’s Student Advisory Council Leaders

The College of Behavioral and Social Sciences is proud to introduce the 2025-2026 leaders of the Dean’s Student Advisory Council (DSAC):

Leonard Fomin

Chair of DSAC
Junior Government and Politics Major

Fomin joined DSAC his sophomore year. During his time as a member, he was involved in two DSAC initiatives: Creating a flow chart for GVPT majors to better understand their schedule and developing a quiz to help BSOS students select a minor.

As DSAC chair, Fomin would like to establish a monthly publication called the “DSAC Electives Insider” which would highlight “the exciting electives available across different majors and minors within the college.” Fomin also hopes to conduct a facilities audit—which would involve surveying students on which BSOS buildings they enjoy spending time in, and which ones could be marked for needed renovations—and jointly host events with other units on campus.

“I’m really hoping to use this position to reach out to a lot of smaller majors and make sure they’re represented on DSAC,” Fomin said. “Even groups outside our college, to see how we can collaborate and learn from them rather than staying in this existing mold.”

Alexis Leslie

Vice Chair of Outreach
Sophomore Hearing and Speech Sciences Major

Leslie joined DSAC this year  to provide support and foster connections within the BSOS community. In this position, she hopes to continue working closely with fellow BSOS undergraduates and expand their understanding of the college’s operations.

“I am excited to work closely and creatively with my committee to spotlight the many initiatives within DSAC. I also hope to provide helpful resources to fellow undergraduate students that highlight everything our college has to offer,” Leslie said.

Lindsey Layton

Vice Chair of Programming
Senior Psychology Major

Layton's decision to become involved with DSAC this year stems from her initial desire to highlight the needs and voices of psychology students.
In her new position on the council, she hopes to grow her passion for creating spaces where all BSOS students can come and “find their place” within the college.

“I’m really excited about the chance to plan events that are not only fun but also meaningful; things that can bring students together, highlight resources, and make people feel more at home in our [college],” she said. “I’m also looking forward to collaborating with the rest of the council, learning from everyone’s different perspectives, and seeing the impact we can make when we work as a team.”

Emma Dezenzo

Vice Chair of Academics
Junior Environmental Science and Policy Major

Dezenzo decided to join DSAC her sophomore year because it offered the chance for her to use her voice “to strengthen the connection between students and BSOS leadership” and help shape initiatives that directly benefit her peers. One such initiative she helped with during her sophomore year was the creation of the BSOS Student Guide to Law School Preparation.

Dezenzo said the council is a great platform for collaboration with other student leaders, too, and looks forward to sharing diverse perspectives in order to improve the experiences for students along the way.

In her role on the council, she is also looking forward to working on new initiatives this year that, “enhance academic resources, expand opportunities for professional development, and promote a stronger culture of community and inclusion across BSOS.”

Kelsey Eggleston

Vice Chair of Student Services
Senior Hearing and Speech Sciences Major

Eggleston believes in uplifting all student voices regardless of major, citing her own experience within one of the college’s smaller majors.

In her first year with DSAC, Eggleston aspires to create meaningful opportunities for students to connect, network and grow in their major.

“I am looking forward to collaborating on initiatives that strengthen career development and diversity and inclusion, as well as engaging with alumni and students through programs like the Career Panels,” she said.
