Help UMARC Support Individuals and Families Affected by Autism
Everyone has a story on the spectrum. That’s why the University of Maryland Autism Research Consortium (UMARC) is launching an important project to strengthen support for individuals and families dealing with autism spectrum disorders.
Throughout April—Autism Awareness Month—UMARC will be working to raise funds for the Community-wide Learning about Autism Speaker Series (CLASS). CLASS brings in well-known speakers to address crucial topics related to autism with the goal of informing, empowering and enabling the local community.
“It’s not just about providing information, but letting families affected by autism know that we are here to support them and help them any way we can,” said Dr. Nan Ratner, UMARC Director and a Professor in the Department of Hearing and Speech Sciences.
Through the University of Maryland’s Launch UMD crowdfunding platform, UMARC has set a goal of raising $8,300 to support CLASS before the end of April. Please visit launch.umd.edu/umarcclass to learn more about the project, help spread the word or make a donation!
