Judge AW Williams Center Launches New Podcast

The Judge Alexander Williams, Jr. Center for Education, Justice & Ethics broadcast its first episode of the “Perspectives on Justice” podcast in October. A new episode is posted each Tuesday on the Center’s website, and on various podcast platforms.

To listen, please visit the website, or search "Perspectives on Justice" in a podcast app.

Each week, Judge Williams examines a hot topic with guests who are experts in their fields. The guests debate on topics including ethics, social, and criminal justice. The podcast begins with Judge Williams putting each episode in context, based on the show topic, and setting up the topic for discussion.

The show is geared toward a diverse demographic audience. The podcast will advance the conversation on a myriad of issues surrounding the three pillars of the Judge AW Center’s mission: Education, Justice, and Ethics.

“Crime and punishment lead the nightly newscast, and people have passionate feelings about fairness and justice,” Judge Williams said. “‘Perspectives on Justice’ seeks to provide a platform for varying opinions about all forms of justice.”

The first episode features a conversation about Excessive Force/Police Brutality with guests Clarence Edwards, a 30-year law enforcement official and former Police Chief for Montgomery County, and Prince George’s County State’s Attorney Aisha Braveboy.

Subsequent episodes include topics such as: The Importance of Voting and the Voting Rights Act; Racial Profiling; Defund the Police; Gun Control; Post Election Debriefing; the Moratorium on Evictions and Foreclosures; The Impact of Incarceration on Children and Families; Returning Citizens; Learning in a Pandemic Environment; and the Outlook on Marijuana.

This podcast series is made possible by generous donors. Learn more about our mission and ways to give.
