Kenny Beaver Named as Chief Development Officer
The College of Behavioral and Social Sciences congratulates Kenny Beaver, who was named as Chief Development Officer in June. He has served BSOS in this role in an interim capacity since the summer of 2020.
Kenny assists with development and alumni relations efforts, focusing specifically on raising major gifts in support of BSOS. He has been with BSOS for eight years, starting as an Assistant Director of Development.
“It has been my privilege to work with many generous alumni and friends of the college to help them realize their philanthropic goals and strengthen their connection to the University of Maryland,” Beaver said. “I look forward to building upon the progress we have made toward the goals of the College of Behavioral and Social Sciences in the Fearless Ideas Campaign. I am also focused on advancing our alumni and donor outreach efforts so that we can provide more opportunities for academic achievement among our student body, as well as enhancing support for our faculty and research initiatives.”
Previously, Kenny was an Assistant Development Officer for the Local Region on the Central Major Gifts team at Maryland. Prior to that, he served as the Assistant Director of Basketball Operations for Hall of Fame Coach Gary Williams and the Maryland Men's Basketball program.
"We greatly value Kenny's record-breaking fundraising efforts in BSOS, and his leadership and insight," Dean Greg Ball said.
