New Leadership for BSOS Alumni
The BSOS Alumni Chapter Board (ACB) welcomes a number of new members to its ranks. Each new member will serve on the board for a two-year term and will help engage and involve BSOS alumni in the College’s mission.

Assistant Special Agent in Charge, US Drug Enforcement Administration Don Im graduated in 1987 with a degree in economics and attended Army ROTC at another school. He received a commission as a US Army Officer in 1986 and served in the US Army Reserve and Active for 28 years, retiring in 2014. |
Kevin Johnson grew up in Clarksville, Maryland, and graduated from the University of Maryland in May of 2018 with a Bachelor’s of Arts in Government and Politics. Kevin has held multiple internships that have helped him gain valuable experience in the public policy and government affairs fields. In the fall of 2015 and spring of 2017, he interned for Maryland State Delegate Herb McMillan, who represents Annapolis, Maryland. Since then he has interned for Congressman Pat Meehan, the National Association of REALTORS®, the National Association of Manufacturers, and K&L Gates International Law firm, focusing on financial services and tax policy. |
Jessie Latter ’17 (CCJS & GVPT) Associate, Lafayette Group |
Jessie Latter holds a Bachelor of Arts in both Criminology and Criminal Justice and Government and Politics from the University of Maryland College Park (2017). During her time as an undergraduate student, she served both as the CCJS Representative and Vice Chair of Programming for the BSOS Dean's Student Advisory Council and as a BSOS Ambassador. She was also a member of UMD's chapter of the National Political Science Honor Society, Pi Sigma Alpha, and the National Criminal Justice Honor Society, Alpha Phi Sigma. After graduation Jessie joined Lafayette Group as an Associate where she supports the U.S. Department of Homeland Security's (DHS) Office of Emergency Communications (OEC) in strategic planning efforts related to public safety communications. |
Linh Nguyen ’08 (SOCY) |
Linh is a proud 2008 graduate of the University of Maryland with a degree in Sociology and also an academic citation from the CIVICUS program. She received her Master’s of Business Administration with a specialization in Cyber Security in 2016 followed by a Graduate Certificate in Cyber Security in 2017 from Loyola University Maryland. She currently works as a Cybersecurity Strategist for the Department of Defense. In her spare time, she serves as a member of the Terrapin Club Board of Directors and Co-Chair of the Terrapin Club New Generation Committee and on both the Pastoral Council and Haiti Committee at St. Louis Catholic Church. She enjoys spending time with family and friends, going to sporting events, and traveling the world. |
Jeremy Rachlin ’02 (PSYC) |
Jeremy is a Partner at the Bethesda, Maryland law firm of Bulman, Dunie, Burke & Feld, Chtd., where his legal practice focuses on estate and trust planning/administration, as well as civil litigation. Following graduation from the University of Maryland in 2002, Jeremy earned a J.D. with honors from the University of Maryland Carey School of Law. Jeremy has been in the private practice of law since 2007. He was recently elected Treasurer of the Montgomery County Bar Association, serves on the Executive Committee of the Montgomery County Inn of Court, and participates in many professional mentor-mentee organizations. Jeremy was recognized with the prestigious Leadership in Law award from the Maryland Daily Record in 2016. Jeremy previously served as the Vice President of the Honors College Alumni Network and is thrilled to join the BSOS Alumni Board. Jeremy and his wife Emily (a fellow BSOS grad, class of 2003) live in Brookeville, Maryland, and their pride and joy is raising their 7-year-old daughter to love the Terps! |
Bishop Sakyi ’11 (CCJS) |
A first-generation Ghanaian born in the United States, Bishop Sakyi enjoys travelling as much as possible. Recently, he travelled to Ghana, Jamaica, Dominican Republic, Canada, Mexico, Paris and Amsterdam. Bishop graduated from the University of Maryland in May of 2011, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminology and Criminal Justice. While at the University of Maryland, he served as President of the African Student Association and was able to volunteer with an organization called Justice for D.C. Youth. After graduating from UMD, he attended the Charlotte School of Law and graduated in December 2015. Currently, Bishop works as an Equal Employment Opportunity Specialist with the United States Department of Agriculture's Office of Civil Rights. Additionally, he recently joined the D.C. Volunteer Lawyer's Program, allowing him to handle family law cases for underprivileged residents of D.C. |
Brian Vincent ’03 (ECON) |
Brian graduated with a BA in Economics (Departmental Honors) in May of 2003, writing a senior thesis describing a model which analyzed a revenue-neutral corporate tax reform policy. He was twice an Economics Department Distinguished Scholar and received the Dudley Dillard Prize for Most Outstanding Economics undergraduate student. Brian served on the Education committee of the University Senate, in multiple leadership roles within Delta Sigma Phi fraternity, on the University of Maryland Interfraternal Council Executive Board and as President of the Order of Omega Greek honor society. Brian was a member of the Sigma Circle of Omicron Delta Kappa and graduated Phi Beta Kappa. Professionally, he is a Partner with a transfer pricing and valuation consulting firm called Economics Partners, LLC based in Washington, DC. Brian also holds an MBA from The George Washington University School of Business and is currently working on a second Master's in Taxation Law from New York University School of Law. |
