NSSLHA Students Organize Toy Drive Benefiting LEAP Preschool
New toys and monetary donations can be contributed Nov. 5-17
The university’s chapter of the National Student Speech Language & Hearing Association (NSSLHA) will be hosting a toy drive Nov. 5-17. The drive, which will benefit the children that attend the Language-Learning Early-Advantage Program (LEAP) preschool on campus, is being organized by hearing and speech sciences majors Natalie Rothman, a sophomore, and Sara Kay, a junior.
“We joined NSSLHA to get more connected to the field and help contribute to our community,” wrote Natalie in an email. “We decided LEAP was the perfect place to do a toy drive because Sara and I both hope to work with kids in the future.”
The drop box for toys will be located in LeFrak Hall’s faculty suite, room 0141. Only new toys are being accepted, and monetary donations in lieu of toys can be shared via Venmo to @natalierothman.
Toys, for which there is no quantity cap, will be delivered to the LEAP preschool on Nov. 19.
In Rothman’s words, “The more toys the better!”
