Scholarship Day 2014: Change A Life
One Day. One Challenge. Second Year.
On December 10, Maryland will host its 2nd Scholarship Day, a 24-hour giving challenge to support student scholarships.
The College of Behavioral and Social Sciences, and each of its 10 remarkable academic departments, is proud to Be the Solution to the financial challenges our amazing Terps encounter.
Last December, more than 1,000 donors raised nearly $250,000 in just one day. This year, we’re counting on you to give to your favorite UMD program so we can help students achieve their dreams!
Any amount is welcome ($5 and up), and is deeply appreciated by the community of faculty, staff, alumni, and friends that work to support our students in need. Without additional support, $80 million in requests for financial aid won’t be filled in the year to come.
Of course, there is some friendly competition among schools, colleges and programs to raise the most money for Terp scholarships!
The college or school with the most number of participants and with the most dollars raised in 24 hours will receive matching funds. Last year, BSOS was at the top of the Scholarship Day leaderboard and received an additional $2,500 in matching funds thanks to YOUR participation — let's make an even bigger impact this year!
Be sure to follow the action all day on social media & the Scholarship Day website! #ScholarshipDayUMD
There will be hourly competitions to help put our efforts in the spotlight. For example, between 3-4pm BSOS will be competing for ‘Most Gifts to a School/College’. Support your department, college and university – don’t forget to give on Scholarship Day! GIVE HERE!!
