Social Data Science Center—Ph.D. Studentships
Recently launched by the College of Behavioral and Social Sciences and the College of Information Studies, the Social Data Science Center (SoDa) leverages UMD’s substantial strengths in survey methods, measurement, information management, visualization, and analytics to conduct research, provide education, and work with partners to advance social data science and measurement.
Applications are now open for fully-funded studentships for the Ph.D. in Survey Methodology program, which focuses on social data science and related topics.
The program begins in Fall 2021. Apply by Jan. 8, 2021.
To apply for the studentship, submit a separate statement of interest in funding (of no more than 1,000 words) to socialdatascience@umd.edu by Jan. 8. Your statement should describe a particular topic of interest and highlight why you want to pursue that research area. The project should relate to at least one current research project, research initiative, and/or activities at SoDa.
