US News Recognizes Top BSOS Programs
Once again, the Department of Criminology and Criminal Justice’s graduate program has been ranked #1 in the nation by U.S. News & World Report’s “Best Graduate Schools” guide for 2019.
“The Department of Criminology and Criminal Justice at UMD continues its legacy of excellence in scholarship and training in this field, and the efforts of our faculty, staff, students and alumni have been recognized by this well-deserved top ranking,” said Dean Gregory Ball.
The counseling program in the Department of Psychology, which is jointly offered with the College of Education, was also again ranked as #1.
“The number one ranking received by the counseling program is indicative of this team’s continuing commitment to rigorous training and scholarship,” Dean Ball said.
Overall, the College of Behavioral and Social Sciences is the proud home of nine programs and areas of specialty ranked among the top 40 in the latest U.S. News listings.
The audiology program within the Department of Hearing and Speech Sciences is ranked #17; the department’s area of specialty in speech-language pathology is ranked #20.
The graduate program in economics is ranked #22. The graduate program in sociology is ranked #24. The graduate program in political science is ranked #28.
The clinical psychology program is ranked #31, and the graduate program in psychology is ranked #40.
