U.S. Sen. Angela Alsobrooks Teaching GVPT Class on Leadership

During this spring 2026 semester, first-term U.S. Sen. Angela Alsobrooks (D-Md.) is co-teaching a course in the Department of Government and Politics (GVPT) called “What’s Leadership Got to Do With It?”

GVPT Chair Antoine Banks teaches the course with Alsobrooks every week, leading discussions about personality and morality; challenging students to think about decision-making and navigating crises in various fields; and introducing students to guest speakers like Baltimore Ravens President Sashi Brown, former Children’s National Hospital CEO Dr. Kurt Newman and U.S. Sen. Cory Booker (D-N.J.), so that they can see what leadership looks like in different roles and fields.
