CESAR Director Jessica Magidson Pens a 'USA Today' Article on the Opioid Epidemic
Jessica Magidson, an associate professor in the Department of Psychology and the director of the Center for Substance Use, Addiction & Health Research (CESAR), recently co-authored a USA Today article with Emily Mendenhall, a professor at Georgetown University and the director of Science, Technology and International Affairs (STIA), concerning the opioid epidemic.
To address the epidemic, they argue that " ... in a moment of healthcare austerity, it’s time to draw from lessons learned from proven solutions from countries who provide good care at low cost to tackle the growing treatment gaps in the U.S. ... Lessons learned from South Africa can help us achieve this."
