MCRIC research spans a broad range of disciplines and fields of expertise, engaging in innovative approaches to help keep Maryland communities safe. From the social sciences to engineering, public health to computer science, information studies and engineering, MCRIC provides world class research to inform crime reduction and prevention practices and policies.
Housed at the University of Maryland, MCRIC provides a key mechanism to engage cutting edge expertise to foster interdisciplinary research aimed at addressing today’s grand challenges, such as gun violence, social and racial disparities in the criminal justice system, and behavioral health among others by engaging in community-led research and evaluation projects.
