A Conversation with UMD Faculty, Students and Stakeholders & The White House Office of Gun Violence Prevention (WHOGVP)

UMD President Darryll J. Pines welcomed Rob Wilcox, Deputy Director of the White House Office of Gun Violence Prevention, to the University of Maryland on April 24th, 2024 to hold a discussion with PROGRESS and other stakeholders on gun violence reduction. Attendees, including community representatives and UMD leaders, faculty, and students, gained insights into recent legislative measures and initiatives undertaken by the WHOGVP.
PROGRESS Co-Directors Kessel and Richardson were pleased to have support from UMD faculty, students, and stakeholders and the WHOGVP for this interactive dialogue, including:
- Darryll Pines, UMD President
- Robert Wilcox, Special Assistant to the President and Deputy Director of the WHOGVP
- Jennifer King Rice, UMD Provost
- Susan Rivera, Dean of the College of Behavioral and Social Sciences (BSOS)
Due to a pre-existing commitment, Dr. Richardson participated in the event via livestream video.
