"White Coats at the White House"

PROGRESS Co-Director Woodie Kessel was among a distinguished group of healthcare executives, leaders, practitioners, and service providers who participated in the "White Coats at the White House" event on June 7, 2024. This gathering, organized by the Biden Administration's Office of Gun Violence Prevention, brought together experts to discuss and address firearm violence as a critical public health issue.

As part of a series of strategic initiatives, the event emphasized the need for enhanced data collection on gunshot injuries and proactive public health counseling on firearm safety.  Highlighting a comprehensive approach to mitigating gun violence, the event also explored innovative strategies for community involvement and policy advocacy.
