PROGRESS Distinguished Speaker Series Presentation:

"Racialized Media Frames in the Depiction of Gun Violence in Maryland"

On Wednesday, April 21st, 2026, PROGRESS welcomed Nadine Finigan-Carr, PhD, to present her PROGRESS-sponsored research on racialized media frames in the depiction of gun violence in Maryland.  Highlighting themes of racism, white supremacy, and anti-Blackness, Dr. Finigan-Carr's research evaluates the impact of media depictions of gun violence and gun policy in Maryland from 2020-2024. The event provided guests and speakers to engage with innovative ways to prevent gun violence.
