PROGRESS Co-Director Briefs Maryland's Governor

On September 19, 2024, PROGRESS Co-Director Woodie Kessel had the opportunity to meet Maryland's Governor, the Hon. Wes Moore. Dr. Kessel took the opportunity to brief Gov. Moore on the status of PROGRESS as an initiative created and supported by UMD President Darryll Pines.
Dr. Kessel and Gov. Moore also discussed the latest PROGRESS developments and the launch of the Maryland Department of Health's Center for Firearm Violence Prevention and Intervention, which will consolidate and better coordinate the state’s public health approach to preventing gun violence.
